to Pilar
This drawing is dedicated not only to my art teacher, Pilar, but to all those educators who make you long for their classes and who, once you graduate, leave a lasting footprint.

The structure can be broken down into three orders:
- First order: Three pairs of Fibonacci spirals (only the outlines are used to form three circle-like shapes).
- Second order: A central point aligned with the original 42 Ć 60 cm canvas.
- Third order: Color groups, since it is a complete chaos of New and Old World monkeys.
Chromatic description from top to bottom:
Bright, warm colors ā brownish tones ā black-and-white species ā brownish again ā pale browns with red/pink spots

Theres a total of 99 monkeys and 2 predators stalking on both sides.
(This was originally going to be a pastel painting, but the size and detail of each monkey led it to be penciled. Gouache on the reds.)
I simply like monkeys; I am neither a biologist nor a primatologist. This drawing should not be taken as scientifically accurate. Whether a monkey is specifically a Saimiri boliviensis or a Saimiri sciureus, I cannot tell you. Everything is based on blind trust in Google image searches.
